I had a '74 Super beetle that looked like that because my dad got tires from a 'retired' (read: broken) Pursuit Mustang, and I had to cut the fenders back. Mostly because with me and $5 of gas in the tank meant that the tires rubbed like crazy.

The neighbours all got out their lawn chairs and beer to watch the operation.

Embarrassing then, funny now.

Ah I do remember that. Kickass :) I've developed a real liking for Baja Bugs since Orlove exposed me to them. They're probably quite close to my Lada in feel and character.

Make sure you upload some pics once you get hold of it.

Ya, I'll admit Orlove really got me into them. I've always been fascinated by them because I saw one when I was a kid with a stinger exhaust on it. Once Orlove started writing about his I fell in love. I saw this one with the right price and decided to go for it! If I end up getting it, there will be many posts and pictures!
